december?
It will come as a harsh new reality for Peter when we move somewhere less temperate and he won't be able to play in water, barefoot, without a jacket, in the late morning.
I don't actively encourage water play at the park these days, but if the water's a-runnin', I can't stop him. I would have to pack him up and take him home if I didn't want him to play in the water. There's no distracting him away. He loves the stuff. And if the risk is a cold or two, so be it.

Family Davis-Ross is not at its best. It's a perfect storm of crankiness each and every day. Teething toddler? Fussy baby? Overworked dad? Emotional mom? Check, check, check, check.
Sleep is the linchpin here. Not any of us are sleeping enough, which seems somewhat expected for said busy parents, but somewhat unreasonable for infants and toddlers. I mean, really, sleeping and eating are their only responsibilities.
Every day, Peter gets both more and less agreeable. He does some really thoughtful things, like (unprompted) run and find Lucy's pacifier if he sees her crying, or putting away his toys after playing with them, or giving copious and warm hugs. But he also has started hitting Lucy in the face, and shrieking "mine!" several times a day, and having near-temper tantrums when you ask him to not chew on crayons.
I'm blaming it on teething. If you would like a good argument against intelligent design, how about teething? Seriously. Kevin jokes that my answer for every step backward is teething, but I'm telling you, our son does NOT like to get new teeth. Every period of increased fussiness and/or sleep problems have coincided with getting new teeth.
Speaking of teeth, Lucy's started drooling is full effect. Luckily she's less drooly than her brother was, but it's there, and it's a reminder than in just a few months she'll sprout her own chompers. I mean, in about two months she'll sit in a high chair and eat solid food. Huh? The baby? Really? All of a sudden, I'm thinking how nice it might be to actually have a baby again...
