Apparently, Mother Nature was in on the calendar this year, as we woke Friday morning to snow.
For real.
Snow, in April.
The snow was huge, beautiful flakes, just nice enough to make me think that I'd been exaggerating and winter hadn't been that terrible. We put on our winter boots for one last trip out in the snow and to catch some flakes on our tongues. With flakes the size of silver dollars, it wasn't too difficult to do.
Then someone got snow in his eyes and started crying and all of a sudden I remembered that yes, winter had been that terrible, thank goodness it's behind us.
Later in the day, Peter played his own April Fools joke on Kevin when he dressed their most gigantic doll in some of Thomas's clothes, remarked that the baby looked just like Thomas, and though it would be funny to surprise Kevin by putting the doll in the freezer and pretend they'd hidden Thomas there.
(The joke didn't exactly go as planned. The real Thomas was crying and gave it all away. The sight of a baby in the freezer was pretty hilarious, though.)
