For a while Peter's been asking to visit the Delaware Museum of Natural History, specifically to see the glass-covered coral reef display. He'll ask to go but then not be so disappointed when we opt to go elsewhere, as we did on Saturday when we took advantage of the lovely weather to visit the zoo.
But then Saturday night, I pulled out the kids' springtime pajamas, and Lucy immediately put on the ice cream themed ones. And all of a sudden, a synapse fired and I thought, "Sweet Lucy's!"
So it's very fair to assume that we went to the Delaware Museum on Sunday because I'd been thinking about ice cream. Very, very fair indeed.
Peter and Lucy and Thomas too enjoyed their time at the museum, perhaps the most when they were running around the new tarantula's exhibit, perhaps less when we took that running-around energy outside to the nature trail.
For the first ten minutes Kevin and I were somewhat excited that we could return to hiking. They love it! we thought. Then Lucy tripped, Thomas started crying, and Peter began complaining that his legs were tired and it was uphill. Eh, we tried.
Luckily, ice cream is a tonic for all of these aliments, and our visit was well received. Until the ice cream made the children crazy.
