(just a little space to make their art)
There's a giant chalkboard wall on campus, so Birkenstock-clad professors can take their classes outside to learn* amid the arboretum's well-manicured gardens and trees.
Or, so a group of eight preschoolers, armed with paint brushes, a bucket of water, and fifty sticks of sidewalk chalk, can do their worst.
This activity lasted a bit longer than I thought it would, helped in large part by all of the mid-art running and chasing that characterized our day.
The chalkboard wall is just outside Kevin's office, so he joined us after his day was through, and, perhaps most importantly, entertained the kids while the mothers could talk.
*Kevin's taken his classes outside, and he's never worn a pair of Birkenstock, so this statement is patently false. Good descriptive value, but untrue.
