We visited Winterthur last week to visit with new friends and explore the Enchanted Woods.
I'm not sure if it's our good moods of late or the beautiful weather (or both!), but this visit to Winterthur was pretty much pitch-perfect, aside from the ferocious black flies. These bad boys are out in force this summer, and their favorite place seems to be inside our eyeballs. Ugh!
We were swept up in an impromptu game of hide-and-seek with our new friends and weren't able to visit all of the garden, so a return trip is in the works. Rumor has it Kevin would like to join us this time. Winterthur is a pretty amazing place, so I can't blame him.
As we drove away, Peter and Lucy noticed a sign outside the Delaware Museum of Natural History advertising the One World, One Sky planetarium show. We were intrigued, and turned around to check it out. We've seen this planetarium show before, while visiting The Children's Museum of Indianapolis.
I assumed the museum would project the show on the regular movie screen - but no! Instead, in the special exhibit room, we found a small blow-up planetarium. (Just like a bounce house. But with white walls.) It was freakishly claustrophobic, had a few cool echo pockets the way round rooms do, and showed the exact show that I've managed to sleep through three times now. The kids liked it, though, and who can be disappointed with some glow-in-the-dark stickers?
