Lucy found a hand-me-down swimsuit in the office and claimed it as her own. If the shoe fits...
Even though it wasn't a hot day, we visited the sprayground in South Philly by Peter's repeated request. I'd put him off a few times, hoping for better weather (warmer, no thunderstorms), but by day five of asking to go to the sprayground I just didn't have the heart to dash his hopes any longer.
While we waited for the water to turn on, the kids had fun playing on the playground equipment. We visit many playgrounds with all sorts of new-fangled equipment that defies explanation, but this playground takes the cake. All I can say is: electronic merry-go-round.
There's also a cool skateboarding feature. I'm glad Peter and Lucy were too nervous to try it out, since it looked beyond dangerous for the under-five, never-been-on-a-board set.
And Thomas practiced standing! He's a cute one.
Once the water turned on, the kids ran right over and didn't stop running for at least half an hour. Lucy especially was super excited by the sprinklers and could have lasted much longer. Peter tripped after a bit and, while not hurt, it clearly took the fun out of the day for him.
Even Thomas enjoyed playing in the water, although it was a little dangerous for him to be on the ground with all of the squealing, running, tripping children around. Also, an older girl tried to pick him up. I was about two seconds too late realizing that she wasn't going to bend down and admire him, but rather bend down and pick him up. Yowza!
