How big were dinosaurs? It's kind of an irrelevant question without an understanding of feet, inches, and yards, right? We set out yesterday to measure us some dinosaurs, a fun task to be sure, but even more fun? The tape measure. Never underestimate the simple joys.
We didn't learn about feet, inches, or yards, but we did figure out just how long some dinosaurs were. The brachiosaurus was as long as our four townhouses! And a t-rex's jaw could open 10 feet, more than wide enough to enjoy a tasty Lucy and Peter snack.
We didn't measure this guy, but was happy when he showed up in our sandbox. I'm sure he was happy when he escaped away from us, too.
