It started raining just as we were getting ready to leave storytime earlier this week, and rather than sit it out in the library we braved it and walked home.
It was wet and sloshy and just a bit cool, but playing in the rain and puddle stomping are on our summer fun list so why not?
It turns out the kids aren't fans of playing in the rain or stomping in puddles. Surprised? I'm kind of surprised, too. We've tried it before, to tepid reviews, but I'd always blamed the lack of enthusiasm on the coldness of spring rains.
Although, when properly accessorized, Lucy can be convinced of any activity. Here, with her pink polka-dot umbrella and monkey rain boots and kitty-cat rain jacket, she's happy.
It's funny how playing in the rain isn't so fun, but just wait to see the giggles when the sprinkler comes out. Context is everything, right?
