There's always something going on when I come downstairs in the morning, but nothing quite like last week's big party for An-Ja-Rew.
Later, there was another party, this time with markers and crayons taped to the back of the sofa.
So for these moments, where I'm thinking GOOD GRAVY! EVERY TOY! EVERY TOY?, I have to force myself to sit back and see the total concentration and effort and creativity and planning and follow through that went into such a project
This isn't to say I don't lose my cool. There's many a cool lost in our hot, hot house. But the children will do this and do this and do this again - so many variations on the endlessly amusing theme of "let's pile all our stuff up over here!" - and so my challenge is to just let go. Much easier said than done, my friends, especially with the baby and the scissors and the errant marbles.
It always helps when Daddy's around to pick up all of these toys, too.
