a few items knocked off our list this week:
lemonade! Declared delicious by all, especially Kevin, who would drink lemonade all day long if allowed.

since our mittens are put away, how about socks?
ice cream in bags! Not so much a success (little hands have trouble kneading big bags of ice, and little people have trouble patiently waiting for their ice cream to freeze), but still delicious, thanks to yummy local cream (worthy of its own blog!) and a hefty dose of vanilla.
fluffy clouds of sweetness; bewildered baby
macaroons! Despite the dank weather Monday, we successfully made macaroons to celebrate the Feast of the Assumption of Mary. (The macaroons look like clouds...) The kids loved making these, from processing the sugar to whipping the whites. I take that back: they weren't fans of the three-hour bake time.
We also made a worm farm, but we set them free today after their habitat was flooded with yesterday's rain. The worms here are insane - easily the largest I've ever seen. I'm pretty sure we put a 12-incher in our farm.
