(1) Despite a rough understanding of phonics, Lucy insists that this song is "C is for Poopy." She's not being cute, or silly, or telling a joke: she really, truly believes that Cookie Monster is saying "poopy," and that "C" is for cookie. Trying to disabuse her of this notion just makes her angry. Don't even try.
(2) Peter's turning into a major backseat driver. I'm fairly certain it stems from the time we were stuck in traffic for hours trying to get to New Jersey in the midst of a rainstorm. (We were on the Walt Whitman Bridge itself for an hour.) Now every stoplight or slowdown is met with a slightly panicked, "are we stuck in traffic?"
Perhaps as a correlary to his fears of being stuck, he's insisting that we get into the "fast lane" and pays careful attention to which cars go faster than we do. No matter how many times we explain it, he still can't wrap his little brain around the fact that all of the cars that pass us are going faster, and that the slower cars are behind us.
