I came upstairs to get something - probably more wipes and diapers for some amazing poop explosions* - and heard a little voice call up the stairs:
"Mama, are you? Mama, are you? Mama, are you?"
Kevin reported that earlier in the day, he and Thomas had gone looking for socks with the similar sing-song approach: "socks, where ARE you?" It didn't take Thomas long to integrate it into his vocabulary.
We used this song first with Peter, who would freak out when he couldn't find cuddle bear. We'd sing, "cuddle, where are you?" and he'd join in with his little baby voice: "cuggle, are you? cuggle, are you?"
*We've been saying this. Over and over. Peter was confused that I barked "stop pooping!" at him, but when I explained it was from a show that Kevin and I had watched, he understood. Then:
Peter: Is it a show that's good for kids? (I'm sure he's thinking, if it has poop, it has to be good!)
Me: No, not really.
Peter: Is it scary?
Me: No, but I just don't think you'd understand it. It's funny, though.
Peter: I think everything is funny.
Me: It would be like when we go to church, and you just don't understand everything the priest is saying, even when you try hard.
Peter: Hmmmph.
