Our homeschool group had a blast last week riding our bikes/trikes/scooters/skates at a giant sports complex. The kids were able to ride around on the hard floor, bounce in an obstacle-course style bouncer for a while, and enjoy snacks in our own lunch room.
Uncle Sean helped set up the event, since he coaches at United Sports, and since we were in the area Aunt Brey made sure to stop by with Maelynn. We'd also invited our neighbors to come. It was almost too much excitement to bear! As we were loading up our car the night before, Peter was nearly shaking with excitement: "tomorrow is going to be SO MUCH FUN."
And it was! So much bike and scooter riding, generous friends sharing their other ride-on toys, about a million trips through the obstacle course (Peter and Lucy made a quick recovery after a rough start), and some much-needed exercise in advance of the weekend's snow.
And, a conversation from later that night:
Kevin: Was it as fun as you thought it would be?
Peter: No. (Pause, mischievous smile.) It was MORE fun.
